A penalty deep into added time salvaged a point for Hyde, their second spot kick of the game - after Wrexham had been reduced to 10-men before half time.
The Reds had fallen behind to an early penalty converted by Tom Collins, but bounced back through Kevin Thornton and Junior Ntame before the break.
Then all the good work was undone at the death, when Junior Ntame was judged to have handled the ball, spotted by an assistant, allowing substitute Scott Spencer to score the equaliser three minutes into time added on.
