It was another night to forget as the Reds tumbled to Braintree at the Amlin Stadium, with the home side racing away to a three goal victory.
In truth it was no more than the Iron deserved on a night when little went right for the visitors.
Braintree took the lead on 38 minutes, when Sean Marks scored from a tight angle after rounding keeper Andy Coughlin when set up by Dan Holman.
A bright start to the second half evaporated when Dan Holman picked his spot on 75 minutes as the home side broke forward down the left.
It was all over in the final minute when substitute Alex Jakubiak wrapped up the result, the 17 year-old having only signed for the Cressing Road side earlier in the day from Watford.
One bright spot of the evening was a debut for young Danny Reynolds, who almost scored with his first touch, but his header came back off the home crossbar.
The 16 year-old also saw a effort late deflected away for a corner, when he tried his luck from the edge of the box.
Overall you gdeny Braintree the points as they try to overcome a massive faixture backlo
