The Reds got back to form with a fine win at Southport, courtesy of a superb strike by Jay Harris.

In the opening minutes, Moult was just offside as he took a lovely header on from Bishop, as the pair combined.

Good pressure from Wrexham, forced the home team back – with both Jennings and Hudson having chances.

Southport on the counter attack ended with a Brodie shot that deflected up off Robbie Evans.

A Fitzpatrick free kick from the half way line evade all the jumping heads in the box and Bachmann reacted so quickly to palm the ball away, low down to his left.

Brodie then with a shot on the run that flashed wide of the diving keeper and his left hand post.

On 16 minutes, another Wrexham attack saw the ball end up with Jennings 18 yards out and his low curling effort was well gathered by the home keeper.

Wrexham pressure leads to series of corners, but we were unable to get a telling effort in at the home goal.

Bachmann was then called on to save at the feet of Rutherford, after a poor back pass from Hudson let the striker in on his own.

Half an hour played and Evans shot from distance that spun off a defender and keeper struggled to deal with it.

Jennings carved Southport open with a great ball down the left flank, allowing, Moult in for to find Bishop with a pass, but he was stretching and the effort went wide.

Bishop was taken off at the break and Johnny Hunt sent on.in his place. Not sure if Bish was injured, but Hunt goes onto the left wing and Jennings alongside Moult up front.

Just 50 seconds in the second period and Jay Harris hit a stunning 25-yard effort in off a post...

Carrington twice in great positions, but both on his left foot and he elected to try and pick out others, but then a third time and he did shot, at the keeper!

Moult was caught late on and finally needed to be substituted by Wes York.

Bachmann to the rescue again as he saved from Brodie when the striker turned away from Hudson.

Jennings into the side netting after good work to win the ball back in midfield by Carrington on 78 minutes.

York comes down the other flank, spun round and fired low to the near post where Martin saved.
