A fair result in the end, but the Dragons took the lead for the eighth game running, even if we couldn’t quite hold on for the win.

After a goalless first half, Wrexham took the lead when James Gray headed home at the back post, but it was not long before Matt Rhead scored a very similar equaliser – and both managers will be questioning where the cover was.

After nine minutes, a great build up by Reds saw Sean Newton drive in his cross to Wes York at the far post, but the winger trod on ball, he recovered to shoot but the home keeper turned to block the effort for a corner

Moments later Luke Waterfall came in on Robbie Evans and the referee gave us a free kick 20-yards out. Dominic Vose stepped up to strike the dead ball, but could only hit the wall facing him.

On 21 minutes, another free kick causes problems for the Wrexham defence as the tall Matt  Rhead heads on and Liam Hearn headed against the cross bar when easier to score.

Straight to the other end and Newton's free kick was headed over his own cross bar by Waterfall – although the following corner was cleared.

On the half hour mark, the Reds gave the ball away but did well to recover possession and as Evans slipped a ball through on the edge of the home box, the defence stepped up and caught Gray offside as he had an eye for goal.

York collected a ball out to the right, had to spin before toeing a cross into the box, where it somehow managed to evade any contact and carried to the opposite wing.

Another ball from Evans out to York on the right saw the winger strike the ball from distance and force the keeper into a great save, as Farman just managed to touch it onto a post, allowing time for the home defence to scramble clear.

As Wrexham lifted the pressure on the home goal, Javan Vidal stepped between two defenders in the Lincoln box, but with support he went for glory and ran into trouble, losing possession in the process.

With four minutes of the half remaining the previously injured Hearn was replaced by Alex Simmons. The striker had missed their last game with a hamstring problem and had not been looking comfortable on a few occasions in this game.

As we entered added time, Waterfall came forward for a Lincoln free kick and while he got on the end of a knock down, his effort lacked any real power to worry Cameron Belford.

HT Lincoln City 0-0 Wrexham

Early in period, there was a great block by Manny Smith to deny a Hawkridge shot from 18 yards, the centre back throwing himself in front of the City player.

City’s Matt Sparrow was booked for a cynical foul on Vidal and then minutes later he wrestled York to the ground, but somehow managed to stay on the field when a second caution might well have been in the offering.

On 55 minutes, the visitors took the lead as a free kick was floated into the City box, many Smith headed towards Gray and the striker had the time and space to guide his header home from three yards out.

Lincoln reacted by pushing forward and Hawkridge headed against the Wrexham cross bar...then a scramble in the goalmouth from the flag kick - still 1-0 Wrexham

Fyfield booked for handball on the half way, the Gray was replaced by Lee Fowler and Vose switching to the striker’s role.

The home side drew level on 70 minutes, when a cross from our left found Matt Rhead at the back post and without having to move the forward was able to head home easily from close range.

There was a double change as Kayden Jackson replaced Moke, to bring on a striker up front, while Vidal took a knock and was subbed by Blaine Hudson, with Manny Smith switching to full back.

It was all Lincoln City in the closing stages, but a rare Wrexham attack saw the ball squared by York to Vose, but his effort from 18 yards was straight at the home keeper.

Hudson down in the Lincoln box at a corner, screaming for a foul - ref not interested.

As we headed into four minutes of added time, another Lincoln break ended with Hawkridge beating the advancing Belford but only seeing his effort crash against the crossbar.

This coming moments after Wrexham had bombarded the home goalmouth, but no effort that could find its way passed some resolute defending.
