Striker switches from Memorial Stadium...

The Reds have added to their squad by signing former Bristol Rovers forward Joe Anyinsah on a one-year contract.

The Bristol-born attacker has made 30 League Two appearances for the Pirates last season, scoring four times, and leaves having played 64 times for Rovers.

Originally a junior with cross-town rivals Bristol City, Joe made his senior debut for the Robins, but declined a new contract in 2005 and headed north to sign for Preston North End.

A series of loan spells followed before a switched to Carlisle United in January 2009, where he scored 13 times in 49 appearances.

Turning down the chance to extend his stay at Brunton Park, Joe signed for Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2010 and had a season at the Valley, before returning home to sign for Bristol Rovers in 2011.

“I’ve never played at the Racecourse before,” said Joe on agreeing his new deal. “But I’m looking forward to a new challenge with Wrexham.

“It’s always nice to see a few familiar faces at a new club and I know Kevin Thornton from a loan spell with Brighton and I worked with Billy Barr at Preston.”

Having signed on Friday afternoon, he will not be eligible for the trip to Tamworth, as international clearance will now be required.
