Young winger given the chance to prove himself...
Following an extended trial period last season, manager Andy Morrell has handed a six-month contract to Manchester-based Theo Bailey-Jones.
The 19-year-old was with Irlam FC during the early part of last season and also spent time training with Birmingham City at the end of the campaign.
Originally a schoolboy with both Manchester City and Crewe Alexandra, Theo spent his youth years at Northwich Victoria.
Also at the Racecourse this lunchtime to shake hands on the deal was assistant manager Billy Barr.
"Theo initially trained with the youth team last season and he impressed Joey Jones," he said.
"On the back of that, we included him with the first team and not only were we pleased with what we saw, the other players also agreed.
"He had the offer to train with Birmingham City and they seemed interested to take it further.
"But the player himself enjoyed his time with us and that seems to have swayed him to accepting our offer."
Theo will join up with his new teams on Monday, 1 July, when they report back for training and the club will now apply for his international clearance.
