Crusaders overcame a half-time deadlock to edge an important first home win against Hull, who dropped points for the first time this season.

A slow start from Hull gave Crusaders wing Nick Youngquest the space to touch down after 10 minutes.

Hull hit back with tries from prop Lee Radford and wing Tom Briscoe but six points from Michael Witt brought Crusaders level at the interval.

Youngquest went over to snatch the win for the home side in the 68th minute.

Crusaders coach Brian Noble:
"We've worked extremely hard since we got together in January and they got their just rewards today but we will keep a lid firmly on it.

"We are delighted that we beat a top team and delighted how we came through the last 10 minutes.

"It was a fabulous and I think we thoroughly deserved to win. We are playing a good team with some great individuals and quality there.

Hull head coach Richard Agar:
"We can learn massively from this, if you don't turn up with the right attitude and focus, this is what can happen.

"Setbacks like this will happen and these are lessons we have to learn from.

"We have a few individuals who underperformed and we have a few disappointed blokes now."
