Wolves Thank 'Saders Travelling Fans

Posted on: Mon 08 Mar 2010

WARRINGTON Wolves have emailed the club to thank you to all of the Crusaders fans who made the journey for today's game. It was our best travelling support since we joined Super League.

A club statement said: "It was great to see so many of you in the stands supporting the newest side in the competition.

"With the Crusaders having moved to Wrexham we seem to have found ourselves with a new 'local derby' on our hands.

"An attendance of over 11,000 certainly created a great atmosphere and both Warrington Wolves and Wolves boss Tony Smith would like to say thank fans from both sides.

"Crusaders coach Brian Noble was pleased and encouraged by the travelling support shown by the fans seeing this as a positive step forward for the club which now needs building on."

Wolves boss Tony Smith said of the opposition: "They certainly came here with some tactics and they upset the rhythm of our play.

"They tried hard right through to the end and are a lot more competent team than last year that's for sure. They are a lot more solid right across the board and are a far more difficult team to play now."
