Ground Guide - Histon

Posted on: Sat 30 Oct 2010

YOUR guide to reaching Saturday's match at Histon:

By Road:

The Glass World Stadium is situated to the east of the B1049, just over half a mile north of Junction 32 of the A14, and as such is easily accessed from all directions.

From the North-West (Huntingdon): take the A14 to the north of Cambridge and leave at Junction 32 turning left onto the B1049.
From the East: take the A14 and exit at Junction 32 turning right onto the B1049.
From the West: take the A428 which becomes the A14 (at Junction 31) and exit at Junction 32 turning left onto the B1049.
From the South: take the M11 and leave at Junction 14 to take the A14 Eastbound (Newmarket, Ipswich) leave the A14 at Junction 32 turning left onto the B1049.

After leaving the A14 at Jct 32, the B1049 heads north, with the Holiday Inn on the right and then climbs to go over the old railway line with trees on both sides. The Glass World Stadium is on the right hand side next to the recreation ground as the road descends the hill.

Car Parking:

Car Parking at the ground is for permit holders only. Official car parks for match days are run in association with The Friends of Histon & Impington Recreation Ground and there are at least four dotted closed to the ground. Click here for map of the available parking.

By Train:
Unfortunately Histon Station saw its last passengers back in 1970, when the Cambridge to St.Ives line ceased to carry passenger services.
Cambridge Station is about a 10 minute walk from the City Centre and the Citi 7 bus (see below) connects Histon/Impington with Cambridge Railway Station and runs every 10 minutes.

By Bus:

The Citi 7 service runs from Cambridge Railway Station to Histon & Impington via Cambridge city centre.
The best stops for the ground are BUPA Cambridge Lea Hospital (on New Road) or the Railway Vue pub by Histon Station and then it's a short walk along New Road to the ground.

Admission Prices:
Adults - £14.00
Concession - £9.00
U16s - £3.00

Admission to the seats is £1.00 per person more
