Wrexham 3 Denbigh 0
AN under-strength Wrexham side, with a squad of just 12 and missing the likes of Kirsty Jones, Jade Simon and Sian Smith, managed to do the double over rivals Denbigh with a display that deserved the score line.
The home side went ahead thanks to a well taken strike from Lowri Edwards after just seven minutes.
Denbigh were penned into their own half and Lowri Edwards again finding the net on 20 minutes, earning the prolific midfielder the 'Player of the Match' award.
Wrexham started the second half poorly following a change in formation to 4-4-2, as new coach Dave Taylor experimented with the line-up.
A couple of good saves from keeper Amber Dean and some good defending ensured that the 2-0 scoreline was retained.
The locals recovered their form and on 73 minutes got their reward with Nicola Deane, who was just back from suspension, adding her name to the scoresheet.
The game ended with a couple of good saves by the Denbigh goalkeeper as Wrexham took all the points on offer.
Speaking after the game, Wrexham captain Amber Dean said: 'We are very happy with taking the three points after our recent results and were pleased with the attitude and determination of the team to get back to winning ways.
"Hopefully, with this win under our belt, it will spring board us to a strong finish to the season and a good run in the League Cup."
