What an amazing end to the season as the Dragons go on a goal spree at Sincil Bank to show there is hope for next season.
Wrexham raced into a two goal lead when first Levi Mackin headed home on 11 minutes, then Wes Baynes hammered home a 20-yard free kick, which was just reward for good display against a Lincoln City that had won their last three games.
The Dragons actually scored the third goal of the afternoon as well, when Steve Evans headed home yet another own goal on 39 minutes.
After the break Wes banged in a second fantastic free kick, Ben Wright then gave his side some hope late on, but deep into added time Chris Llewellyn wrapped up the points with a fourth.
It was all the more creditable as manager Brian Little lost four players in midweek following injuries during training, so there were a number of changes to the starting line-up, including the welcome return to fitness of Carl Tremarco, while Simon Spender and Gavin Ward were also recalled.
With only a minute on the clock, and a beach ball had already been cleared from the pitch, Steve Evans sent a long ball down the middle which the chasing Marc Williams laid off for Chris Llewellyn and as the striker looked up he fired a low shot from 25-yards that was a yard or two wide of keeper Ayden Duffy's left hand post.
The home side produced a neat short corner on nine minutes when Louis Dodds found Jamie Forrester, who raced towards him with no defender picking him up, allowing the ex-Leeds man the room to get away a shot that only found the side netting when the veteran should have done better.
But it was the visitors who took the lead following a left wing free kick on 11 minutes. Wes Baynes delivered the ball towards the near post and Levi Mackin took full advantage of a well flighted ball to plant a header wide of Duffy for his first goal in a Wrexham shirt - although he had scored on loan for Droylsden a few weeks ago.
As Wrexham continued their attacking ways, Conall Murtagh hit a ball through the middle after 19 minutes, which set Llewellyn away on the left wing. He checked back as the angle was getting narrower and laid a pass in for Neil Taylor, but the youngster's first time effort lack the necessary direction to worry the Imps defence.
The Dragons almost grabbed a second on 23 minutes when four Wrexham players combined to send Baynes into the box, only for him to be denied by a good block from Daniel Hone, with Llewellyn free to his left and screaming for the ball.
Imps' Lee Frecklington hurt himself when trying to head a ball in the Wrexham box and while the home side played on, it was obvious the midfielder was in trouble and after treatment to his shoulder he was replaced on 28 minutes by Shane Clarke.
Defender Gary Croft can count himself lucky to have only conceded a free kick on the edge of his own box after 32 minutes, when he clearly handled the ball away from Llewellyn as the pair ran towards the Lincoln goal. Referee Richard Beeby spotted it, which on another day might have been classed as a 'last man offence', but this time it wasn't even deemed worthy of a yellow card!
Justice was done seconds later though, when Wes Baynes stepped up to hammer a low shot that evaded the wall and nestled in the corner of the net with Duffy rooted to the spot unsighted.
Despite all their good work on the final day of the season, there was still time for Wrexham to remind their celebrating fans exactly why they are bottom of the league.
When a simple long ball was played down the middle from Wales U21 international Lee Beevers, Steve Evans steadied himself to head back to Gavin Ward, but for whatever reason, from 25-yards, he headed the ball as hard as he could and we all watched on in disbelief as it sailed over the stranded keeper and into the net!
This mistake on 39 minutes gave the home side a lift and the Dragons were happy to survive until the break without conceding further, to enjoy 15 minutes back in the dressing room and the chance to re-group.
In an amazing start to the second half, Murtagh played the ball over the top for Llewellyn to chase and while he lifted his effort over the advancing keeper, it lacked the power to beat a covering defender, although his clearing header only ended up bouncing out of play for a corner - all in the opening 30 seconds.
On 51 minutes, a left wing throw in from Tremarco, five yards short of the Lincoln corner flag, was launched into the six-yard box and although cleared to the edge of the box, Baynes was able to get in a good shot that Duffy was happy to grab hold of.
Then a free kick for a foul on Forrester was taken by the same player, just 20-yards from the Wrexham goal, but Ward flung himself to palm the effort away for a corner.
There was a narrow let off for the visitors on 53 minutes, when Scott Kerr found space for himself inside the Wrexham penalty area and fired a low shot across the face of the goal, but no one could bundle it home as the ball whistled passed the far post.
Then two minutes later another good build up by City saw Croft get a shot passed Ward, but Tremarco was back covering and hacked the ball away to safety off his own line.
Wrexham replied when Murtagh's ball to the edge of the City box was headed down by Llewellyn to Steve Evans, but his instant shot was always rising and it sailed over the home crossbar.
There was a twin substitution on 68 minutes, as both sides made a change, Andy Fleming replaced Murtagh and Owain Warlow was sent on for Paul Green.
Ben Wright then produced one of the misses of the season on 74 minutes, when he ran onto a King knock down, but just two yards from goal he somehow managed to blaze his effort high over Ward's bar, when it looked that any touch would have brought a leveler.
As Wrexham surged up field it took a desperate saving tackle from Hone to touch the ball away from Llewellyn, but at the expense of a corner. Baynes then curled the flag kick into the back post, where the diving Shaun Pejic was just short of making contact.
Ward was forced into another diving save on 82 minutes, when a shot from only 10-yards deflected off substitue Dany N'Guessan, but the keeper was able to grab it at the foot of his right hand post.
The Wrexham fans, some 600 of them, never stopped singing all afternoon and they thought they might have had another goal to celebrate as a Baynes corner was met by the head of Pejic, but he just failed to find the target from a few yards out.
As the 90 minutes were nearly up, referee Beeby awarded another free kick to the Welshmen when Baynes was brought down on the edge of the Lincoln box, This allowed Wes Baynes to step up and fire home a rocket from 22-yards that sent the travelling supporters wild - and for the first time this season we have managed to score three goals in a game.
Then as the board went up to indicate four minutes of added time, Pejic lost the ball to Ben Wright, who was away on goal and hammered his effort passed Ward to give the home side some hope of a dramatic come back.
As the Imps piled on the pressure, from a left wing corner Beevers rose highest to put an effort against a post, then moments later Tremarco was on hand to clear off his line for the second time.
But up at the end Chris Llewellyn beat the offside trap to chase a long ball over the top and draw the keeper before lobbing home our fourth goal of the afternoon!
Some hope for next season - we shall see!
