WREXHAM fell to their third home defeat of the season as they failed to overcome the two goal start visitors Salisbury City won themselves in the first half.
In truth Wrexham were poor for the first hour and probably got what they deserved from the game as they were booed off by the smallest crowd of the season, at both half time and the final whistle.
On the anniversary of his first match as manager Dean Saunders made two changes from the side that lost at Kidderminster on Tuesday night, Gareth Taylor returned to the starting line up with Hedi Taboubi also starting in place of the suspended Silvio Spann, Curtis Obeng dropping to right back..
On a dry, windy day in North Wales Wrexham kicked off attacking the ERS end of The Racecourse and were quickly on the offensive with Neil Taylor putting an effort narrowly wide.
The visitors playing a 4-5-1 formation settled down well and had an effort from Tafazolli saved by Maxwell before Flood beat three Reds defenders and struck a low shot easily held by Maxwell.
Maxwell made another save from Oastler before in the ninth minute Salisbury deservedly took the lead when Stuart Anderson headed home a Ruddick free kick.
Wrexham were struggling to get their game going and Salisbury were able to dominate the tempo although Marc Williams did have a penalty appeal turned down.
Neil Taylor and Lamine Sakho were both booked before more poor defending from Wrexham let Salisbury top scorer Matt Tubbs in to score the visitors second. The striker was allowed the freedom of the penalty area to turn in Clarke's cross.
Wrexham were visibly rocked and low on confidence with a well organised Salisbury side in charge Saunders changed the formation to 4-3-3 with Sakho moving up front to join Williams and Gareth Taylor.
With Mark Jones working hard in midfield Wrexham went close when Gareth Taylor headed an Obeng cross just wide.
Hedi Taboubi clipped the top of the Salisbury bar with a good free kick on 38 minutes but Wrexham had not created any clear cut chances in open play during the first half.
In the three added minutes another Taboubi free kick went just over but the Wrexham players left the pitch to a chorus of boos.

Andy Fleming replaced Christian Smith as Salisbury got the action under way after the break.
Within five minutes of the restart they could have been three up when a mistake by Taboubi allowed Ruddick a run in on goal, fortunately for the Frenchman Chris Maxwell did well to keep the shot out.
Two minutes later Frank Sinclair saved the Red Dragons with a great tackle as Tubbs broke clear but the visitors had certainly started the brighter..
With Salisbury dominating play Saunders made a double substitution with Cieslewicz and McCluskey coming on and it lifted the Dragons for a while as they looked to have a better balance on reverting to a 4-4-2 formation with the two subs providing some width.
Gareth Taylor put an effort just wide after some good work by Marc Williams and two minutes later a great break from the back starting with keeper Maxwell saw Marc Williams shoot just over the bar.
Adrian Cieslewicz fired over and then on 69 minutes Gareth Taylor reduced the deficit with a good header from a Curtis Obeng cross. This gave the Dragons some impetus as Jamie McCluskey volleyed over from close range.
Wrexham kept pressing and Mark Jones went close with six minutes left but despite throwing everything they could forwardthis they could not get the equaliser and slipped to another home defeat.
