THE club is in the process at trying to complete a deal to bring in Port Vale's Richard Walker on loan until the end of the season.
The centre half falls into the category of player that manager Brian Carey is looking at to help us through this difficult period.
"We have been trying to bring experienced players," said the boss. "Richard has over a 100 league games to his credit after coming through the ranks with Crewe and although his chances have been limited with Port Vale this season, he has remained a regular in their first team squad.
"He will coming across tomorrow morning and we hope to get all the paperwork sorted out in time for him to join us for the rest of the season."
Richard was born in Stafford, 26 years ago and was a trainee with Crewe Alex after progressing in their youth system.
At 6.02 and 13st, he is central defender who made his league debut as a 20-year-old in November 2000. He didn't become a regular until Crewe's promotion season two years later, when he made 44 appearances.
A target for Martin Foyle in the summer of 2005, Walker fell out of favour at Gresty Road and was released by Dario Gradi at the end of last season before being snapped up by the Vale boss.
