After three wins on the spin, WREXHAM will be brimming with confidence as they travel to second-placed Walsall for their penultimate game of the season.
Michael Proctor's late goal at Gay Meadow gave the Dragons three vital points, moving us up to 20th spot in League Two, three points ahead of Boston United who occupy 23rd position.
The 1-0 victory at Shrewsbury means that Wrexham have kept clean sheets in their last three games, and five out of their last seven. It was also the fourth away victory under Brian Carey's management, and his players will look to continue their excellent form at the Bescot Stadium this weekend.
Despite already being promoted to League 1 for next season, Walsall still have much to play for with the League 2 title up for grabs. They currently lie three points behind Hartlepool United, but with a slightly better goal difference.
Much of their success has been down to their home form - the Saddlers have lost just three out of their 22 games at the Bescot this season. However last week they went down 1-0 to Bury, with a performance manager Richard Money described as 'unacceptable'.
That defeat ended a run of four wins on the bounce, as Walsall enjoyed victories by the odd goal over Accrington Stanley, Torquay United, Hereford United and Notts County.
With a tough trip to third placed Swindon Town on the final day of the season, they will be looking for a win against the Dragons to keep their dreams of the League 2 title alive.
Top scorer for Walsall this season is dead-ball specialist Dean Keates, who has 12 league goals so far. He is closely followed by striker Martin Butler, who has 11 league goals to his name.
Another player to watch is former Dragons favourite Hector Sam, who has weighed in with 7 goals. However he has had to be content with a place on the bench in recent weeks after the arrival of target-man Trevor Benjamin.
Last Time Out
Walsall came to the Racecourse back in December, holding a five-point cushion at the top of League 2. Predictably it was Trinidadian Hector Sam who opened the scoring, turning in a header from close range in front of the kop.
However the striker's celebrations were uncharacteristically reserved after putting his former club a goal down.
Wrexham came back into the game in the second half, and gained a point thanks to an equaliser by Chris Llewellyn, whose right-footed shot beat Clayton Ince at his near post.
With two games to go, Brian Carey's men have given themselves a great chance of securing League 2 safety. If we better Boston's result against Torquay, the final fixture will be academic.
At least one of our rivals will drop points this weekend, with Accrington Stanley playing Macclesfield - so put simply, win this game and we can sleep a little easier at night!
