NEWI Cefn Druids have appointed Lee Jones and Waynne Phillips as joint player-managers following Dixie McNeil's retirement.

The pair both joined Druids as players from Caernarfon Town last season and will take charge of team affairs with immediate effect.

Phillips, who also managed The Canaries, currently has the UEFA B qualification while former Liverpool striker Jones is presently taking the A-badge.

Druids Chairman Brian Mackie said: "Lee and Waynne were both very keen to accept the position jointly.

"They want to keep the squad together as they felt we underachieved last season and more can come from them in the forthcoming campaign."
