Special one-off sleeve badges worn by Wales

FROM a distance it would have been difficult to make out the badge worn on the sleeves of their shirts by home players in the recent Wales v New Zealand international at Wrexham.

Although it was quite low-key, the match also marked 130 years of international football at the Racecourse, believed to be the oldest international ground in the world still hosting games of this standard.

To honour this occasion the FAW had badges made up for the players' shirts, which spelt that out in Welsh and were worn on the right arm only.

FAW officials in Cardiff were also good enough to present us with a signed player's shirt from the game, which will be framed and put on display inside the club to commemorate a quite unique landmark.

A number of Wrexham supporters, led by club historian Peter Jones, are joining together to form the club's historical society, which will help safeguard the proud history of Wrexham FC. Further details will soon be announced for those who might be interested in helping out.
