BRIAN CAREY joined scores of other coaches at a Managers Seminar held in Walsall yesterday, jointly organised with The Football League.
This was one of three such meeting put on at different locations throughout England, aimed at improving relations and understanding between Referees, Managers and Players.
"These are held each pre-season, but obviously this is the first time I have been invited to attend," said Brian.
"The idea is to bring everyone together, discuss any issues we have and also provide further information on forthcoming rule changes .
"As you might imagine, everyday during the summer we receive numerous letters and documents through the post and via email, concerning rules and regulations for the new season.
"These could be reminders, changes to existing rules or the introduction of new requirements.
"You read them and take them on board, but a meeting like this gives us all the chance to work through items and discuss any grey areas there might be.
"It has proved very useful and given me food for thought on a number of topics.
"I will now be in a position to better explain certain things to the players and, hopefully, will make for a better understanding between players, coaches and referees in the months ahead."
