Reds See Red

Posted on: Wed 19 Sep 2007

AS if losing to a rather dubious penalty decision in last night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy game wasn't bad enough, we lost three players through injury during the 90 minutes and then saw another two receive their marching orders.

Striker Chris Llewellyn was the first to head for the dressing rooms when he reacted to referee's issuing of a yellow card for what he saw as a foul in front of the dugouts, when most people near the incident never even thought he made contact with the Macclesfield player.

Unfortunately, the Wales international let his frustration get the better of him and in a verbal exchange with the match official ended up taking the long walk for an early bath.

Then into added time at the end of the match Michael Proctor saw red when Mr Drysdale landing with his feet on an opponent already on the ground.

Chris can expect a two-match suspension, while Michael will likely start a three-game ban - both will kick in with immediate effect.

The club will not be appealing either decision.

Further news later today on the conditions of Mike Williams, Ryan Valentine and Eifion Williams, who were all forced to leave the action with various problems.
