FOLLOWING another defeat, Mark Jones was frustrated as he reflected on the events at Edgeley Park:
"I don't know what to say really. Obviously the last few weeks have been really disappointing because we've not been winning. I thought we played a bit better at Stockport but it's easy to say that; the fact is we've lost again, so playing well is no consolation.
"We can get results away from home, but we've got to start keeping clean sheets. That's what you build your base on. We've gone 1-0 up and we have to do a better job of holding onto a lead once we get it. We were only ahead for three minutes this time.
"We lost the game through two mistakes, and it's really disappointing to lose that way.
"Other than the two goals, I didn't really think that Stockport looked like scoring. They had the odd chance, but we helped them with their goals. That's something that we've got to get right, and we've got to get it right as soon as possible.
"It's frustrating because I thought we looked okay going forward. Marc took his goal well and it's disappointing that mistakes where we're caught by a long ball and a corner have cost us.
"It seems like it's the same thing being said every week, and the last thing we want is to be like we were last season.
"It's mistakes that are costing us all the time. I keep saying that, but that's what the problem is really.
"We've got a big game coming up against Lincoln City next Saturday now and it's basically a must-win game. We've got to go out there, keep a clean sheet and score some goals."
At least Jones looked sharp playing in the hole behind Marc Williams, a role he'd like to reprise on Saturday:
"I like playing there, but if I'm going to play there I've got to get my shots away and I'm disappointed with that. I think I just got one shot away in the whole match."
Things might have turned out differently if the officials had given what looked like a clear penalty for a trip on Jones at the start of the second half though:
"I'm not sure exactly what happened to be honest. I felt someone make contact with my heel and I went down, but the linesman didn't give it; he just laughed at me!"
