MANAGER Brian Carey was at the Liverpool FC Academy this morning to watch the club's reserves fight out a 1-1 draw with their opponents.

"It was a very good game and a good result for the team," he said.

"We wanted a match to give a number of our players a run out and Liverpool were good enough to play host to us.

"Matty Done grabbed our goal and a several of the players impressed ahead of the weekend game with Shrewsbury."

RYAN
Valentine, Juan Ugarte and Andy Fleming continue their recovery from long spells out of action with a friendly against a Liverpool XI this afternoon.

As our Pontin's League match at Rochdale had to be cancelled due to the FA Youth Cup tie against Oldham Athletic (Wed - 7.00pm), Brian Carey has fixed up a trip to Merseyside and will give a number of his players the chance of another run out.

Ryan will start at left back, while both Juan and Andy will come off the bench, as the trio look to regain their match fitness.

Matty Crowell will also feature after missing the last few weeks, but Conall Murtagh will have to wait a little longer.

The rest of the line-up contains - Shaun Pejic, Mike Williams, Josh Johnson, Levi Mackin, Matty Done, Mike Carvill and Marc Williams.
