MANAGER Brian Little has had a week to reflect on his opening set of games in charge and reflect on some differing fortunes as he prepares the players for tomorrow's encounter with Brentford at the Racecourse:
"Earlier in the week I was being asked by the press for my thoughts on coming up against Terry Butcher, as we are both former England players, and strangely enough he is someone who I have rarely crossed swords with.
"Obviously, as the week progressed, their questions took on a different angle and I would like to wish Terry well for the future, as I would Andy Scott, who will be in charge of the Bees this weekend.
"This can be a very tough business at times, but I'm sure there are better times ahead for both teams and Terry himself.
"Despite the change in manager at Griffin Park, we will not alter our preparations, although we will be aware that they might well change their style.
"While I have only been in charge for one previous match at the Racecourse, it's nice to be back after a three game road trip, which would have been a test for any team, whether at the top or bottom of the division.
"Obviously I was disappointed with our defeat at Dagenham & Redbridge last Saturday, especially coming on the back of two decent performances and results in the previous week.
"At Rochdale we defended well and looked at making ourselves hard to beat, while three days later we stepped that up at Bury by being better in possession of the ball.
"It was a deserved win at Gigg Lane and the four points we picked up from those two games was a massive tonic for both the team and our supporters. Hence the added disappointment we all felt in London a week ago.
"We altered things at half time, which I felt was the right thing to do, and it certainly made us livelier. While I felt for long periods of the second half that we would get something out of the game, it was not to be.
"As I have said, I probably learnt more from that game than I did in the previous three matches and during the past week we have worked hard on improving certain aspects of our play.
"The mood continues to be upbeat amongst the players as we have readied ourselves for tomorrow's encounter, which, due to the position of both clubs in the League 2 table will be a massive game.
"With so many fixtures coming up over the next few weeks, there is the opportunity to do ourselves a power of good in a short period of time."
