ALTHOUGH we won't know until Tuesday evening, the club is looking at the possibility of bringing forward our home fixture with Bradford City to next Saturday, 26 January.
With our scheduled visit to Hereford United now delayed due to their progress in the FA Cup, manager Brian Little is hoping not to have yet another blank Saturday, by agreeing with the Bantams to move forward our game with them from Tuesday 12 February.
Bradford could well be free, depending on Barnet's progress in their FA Cup replay with Swindon Town, now set to take place this coming Tuesday night. If the Bees dispose of their west country opponents, then Bradford will also be without a game this coming weekend.
The chance to remove a midweek fixture from the schedule will only help the manager in his preparations, as we already have extra Tuesday nights at Mansfield Town and Hereford United to come.
For us NOT to face Bradford City this Saturday, it means that Swindon Town will have to win at Underhill. A Barnet victory or another postponed meeting - which would then see the 3rd Round replay put back until next weekend - will allow us to play host to the Bantams at the Racecourse on Saturday (3.00).
City are in the same boat as ourselves, having had a number of games called off for several different reasons and now looking to spread out what is rapidly becoming a crowded fixture list.
Strangely enough, dispite the poor weather of late, we have yet to lose match due to the rain or frost, but have seen plenty re-arranged because of international call-ups, opponents' cup commitments and the Severn Trent Water Board!
