WREXHAM'S fighting spirit was epitomised by Simon Spender, who worked his socks off up and down the flank as The Dragons secured a memorable win against Darlington.
"I had a few good runs. They were pushed to try to get back into the game and I tried to seize on thart and tried tpo get into the corener and keep the ball up there for a bit."
"It was a good win and made it four games undefeated. I think we're going in the right direction now.
"These results show that our future is promising. We've brought in a few older lads who have brought some experience to the squad. We're looking better and stronger now we're scoring goals and keeping clean sheets."
Spender had to wait for his chance under Brian Little, but has been a fixture since the manager's transfer window reshuffle.
"You've got take these things. When he came in he tried a different system, which you've got to accept. He needed to try different players but I've just waited and I've had a few games now. Hopefully that can continue!"
So should he have been awarded a penalty when he went down under a challenge by Kevin Gall in the second half? The Kop thought so, but the man involved wasn't quite so convinced!
"Well I'm going to say yes, but when we're back in training I'll have to be back in the gym on the weights!"
