THERE was a surprise recall for midfielder Silvio Spann when manager Brian Little announced his 18-man squad for tomorrow's return fixture with Peterborough United at the Racecourse (7.45).
The Trinidadian has not figured since a Boxing Day appearance against Rochdale, but has recovered from injury to play in the last few Pontin's League fixtures.
Little will be hoping he has another name to add to his list, if Paul Ince and the MK Dons agree to allow Drewe Broughton to return to the Racecourse to continue his loan spell with the Dragons.
The striker's initial month expired following Saturday's home game against Grimsby Town, when he was handed the captain's armband for the day.
Ince then called Drewe back to help out in a squad that was looking a bit thin ahead of this evening's JPT area final second leg against League 1 leaders Swansea City.
Whether he is allowed to return following this game remains to be seen, although if he was, then there would just about be time to complete the necessary paperwork for him to be included against the Posh.
Another striker looking to make his mark will be Robert Duffy, who enjoyed 24 minutes against the Mariners, his longest spell on the pitch since joining on loan from Oxford United a month ago.
Adding to Little's attacking options could be Paul Hall, who is another on the verge of a return to first team action, despite pulling a muscle early on against MK Dons on 19 January.
Unfortunately, the ankle injury suffered in training by Neil Roberts last week will continue to force him out of the action.
Wrexham: Gavin Ward, Anthony Williams, Simon Spender, Carl Tremarco, Neil Taylor, Steve Evans, Mike Williams, Phil Bolland, Richard Hope, Jeff Whitley, Danny Sonner, Silvio Spann, Sam Aiston, Robert Duffy, Stuart Nicholson, Chris Llewellyn, Michael Procter, Paul Hall.
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson has been boosted by the news that midfielder Micah Hyde is fit to return to the squad for Tuesday's clash.
The influential club captain has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but trained on Monday in the north-west and Ferguson has indicated to theposh.com that he will be in the 16 for the League Two meeting at the Racecourse Ground.
Jamie Day is also expected to return to the squad after passing a fitness test on a bad back, although he faces a fight to dislodge Daniel Blanchett at left-back after the former Cambridge City defender put in a good performance at Macclesfield Town.
Josh Low and Shane Blackett are also now available for selection after injury leaving Ferguson with almost a fully fit squad to choose from with only Kieran Charnock (knee) and Tom Williams (suspended) unavailable.
'We know it will be another difficult game, but it is important that we assert ourselves on the fixture. The first goal could be crucial in this game and we will need to perform well to get the right result. We have almost a fully fit squad to choose from and that is important at this stage of the season,' Ferguson said.
