CARL Tremarco was determined to keep a sense of perspective after the Peterborough United game.

"It's a cruel game isn't it? They score from two free kicks but I thought we were easily the better side. They didn't create any chances; I know I cleared one off the line, but that wasn't a chance, it was just a scramble. Wardy didn't have a save to make. The first goal took a deflection as well.

"But we knew the unbeaten run was going to come to an end at some point and we've got to crack on now. Mansfield's a big game now and we have a lot of games to come against the teams around us, so we just have to put that to the back of our minds and get on with it. Just because we lost we shouldn't panic; there's plenty of points to be played for.

"We can easily stay up-easily! I just can't wait to play the teams around us. If we play like that against them then those teams won;t beat us, especially not here. No way.

"If we don't pick the points up against the teams around us we don't deserve to stay up to be honest. As the gaffer has said, the last seven games have been a chance to play for bonus points, Now we're got to play the teams around us and hopefully we can beat them.

"I've only been here a month or so, but already I can see what we've got/ We've got some good players here, players who aren't even playing!

"Lots of players here who can't get into the side would get into lots of other teams in this league. It's a decent squad and we've just got to keep at it, keep our heads up and put the Peterborough result behind us.

"We're hard to break down and I think that starts with the front three to be honest. Izzy, Drewe and Stewie work their nuts off! They stop the full backs from getting out and then we keep our shape. Jeff and Silvio did well in midfield and they didn't hurt us at all.

"It was the same last Saturday; Grimsby didn't hurt is either and we were the better team then. It's just we're bottom of the league and that's the way things go when you're bottom isn't it? You need that bit of luck but we didn't get it tonight.

"We've just got to get ready for Saturday. It's our cup final isn't it? The bottom two just going at it."

On a personal note, Tremarco is enjoying himself at The Racecourse, and clearly has a great appetite for the game.

"I'm just hungry for games, When I was out for a couple of weeks I was pestering the physio to let me train, and I wasn't right!

"I was just being stubborn, saying "Let me train" because I came here to play and I wasn't able to. I was just champing at the bit to get out there. I want to do well, I want to progress and hopefully it will be with Wrexham next season."
