Squad Latest v Wycombe Wanderers

Posted on: Tue 11 Mar 2008

FOLLOWING his injury late in the game at Chester on Sunday, striker Rob Duffy is forced to miss out on Tuesday night's visit to Wycombe Wanderers.

The on loan forward was a replacement for Drewe Broughton in the closing stages of our win at the Deva Stadium, but went down with a knee injury and after treatment from Mel Pejic was able to finish the match.

Unfortunately, his knee stiffened up over night and with only a little over 48 hours between matches, he won't recover in time.

His absence is the only change from the side that went to Chester, although boss Brian Little does draft in two more names to push out the travelling party to 17 players.

Defenders Neil Taylor and Gareth Evans have been added the remaining 15 who were on duty against the Cestrians.

Gareth's inclusion is a little bit of a surprise, in as much as the centre back spent most of February on loan at Blue Square North club Tamworth.

It was with the Lambs that he collected his second red card of the season and was hit with a four match ban.

As his initial month's loan was up at the same time, it was agreed that he return to the Racecourse, as four first team games with us should have seen him free from suspension in just 10 days - that was before the weather intervened!

Two postponements later and he found his ban dragging out to three weeks, with Sunday's local derby his final match.

Now free from suspension, he goes straight into the senior squad for the first time since we faced Stockport County on December 29.

Neil Roberts, Steve Evans and Danny Sonner are all still missing through injury.

Wrexham: Gavin Ward, Anthony Williams, Richard Hope, Mike Williams, Gareth Evans, Phil Bolland, Simon Spender, Carl Tremarco, Neil Taylor, Jeff Whitley, Sam Aiston, Paul Hall, Chris Llewellyn, Silvio Spann, Michael Proctor, Drewe Broughton, Stuart Nicholson.

Wycombe manager Paul Lambert is set to hand a recall to Neil Lennon as Matt Bloomfield is out with a leg injury.

Sergio Torres has still not quite recovered from a knee injury and Will Antwi is short of match fitness.
