DESPITE knocking in his fifth goal in eight games and 11th strike of the season, forward Michael Proctor was naturally disappointed that the team's efforts at Adams Park had not merited even a point.
"We gave ourselves a massive mountain to climb in the second half, after we failed to really get going," he said.
"Conceding those two goals was a big disappointment, although the second period was a lot better and we're able to take a number of positives.
"But that first half was a massive disappointment."
How did he cope with playing two games in three days?
"It's a situation which is not ideal, but I wouldn't want to use that as an excuse," he said.
"It was more of a case of letting ourselves down in the first half, although we gave it a real good go after the interval.
"To be honest, I thought we were unlucky not to get ourselves back into the game."
The side's fight back after the interval must have given everyone a lift.
"The team spirit has always been there, second to none, and we will keep going as long as we can," he said.
"We pinned them back for long periods in the second half and in the end I'm not sure how we came away empty handed. We did deserve at least a point for our second half performance.
Can the club still stay up?
"I have no doubt of that; we have the belief and enough quality here," he said.
"If we can continue to perform as we did for the second half tonight, then we have every chance.
"Although we all know we have to do better than we did in the first half."
