MARC Williams was visibly frustrated after defeat in our first visit to Shrewsbury's new ground made relegation from the Football League a virtual certainty.

"It's disappointing. Defeat would have been hard to take anyway, but it's especially painful, what with it being a derby as well and us losing three-nil," he said.

"It wasn't a good performance and we thoroughly deserved what we got really.

"Mathematically it's still possible, but it's going to be very difficult over the next four games.

"I doesn't help when we go behind early again, and in an avoidable manner. It happened in the previous game at MK Dons when we were two-nil down after ten minutes and it's happened again today.

"We just seem to be giving goals away and then we can't score at the other end. When you concede an early goal your game plan's gone, but  it didn't have to be all over.

"I think we did get back into it at the end of the first half. We didn't get an equaliser though, and when they got a second and then a third we were just gone.

"We did create chances and I can think of five or six immediately off the top of my head. We have had chances but we're not taking them up front and we're making mistakes at the back, so at the end of the day we're not going to win matches if we continue to do that.

"We've got four games left and I think everyone at the club knows now that it's stacked against us and it is going to be very tough, but we want to give the fans something back.

"It would be nice to finish the season with something positive, but it's going to be difficult for us to stay up now though.

"Personally it's been nice to get in the team, but obviously I wish I'd been able to play my part in helping us to get a few wins. It hasn't turned out that way, of course, but I enjoy playing under Brian Little and hopefully that continues."
