WINGER Matty Done has decided to turn down the offer of a new contract from Wrexham and instead has opted to sign for Hereford United.
The 19-year-old winger was the subject of interest from the Bulls during the January transfer window and following their promotion to League 1, they have returned to take him back into The Football League.
While the Oswestry-born player was out of contract this summer, because he is under-24 there is a claim for training compensation, but the two clubs have agreed on an undisclosed fee and Matty will switch to Edgar Street with immediate effect.
A product of our Centre of Excellence, Matty broke into the first team on 23 Aug 2005, when appearing as a last minute in a 1-0 home defeat to Doncaster Rovers, just a month after his 17th birthday.
It was the end of the season before he earned his full debut, when featuring on the last day of the campaign in a 1-1 draw at Darlington.
In all Matty made 41 league starts for us and another 23 substitute appearances, but scored just the once, the last goal in a 3-0 success over Grimsby Town at the Racecourse on 8 August 2006.
Oddly enough, his only other goal in a Wrexham shirt came at Hillsborough just two weeks later, when he found the back of the net as we demolished Sheffield Wednesday 4-1 in the League Cup.
Including cup ties, Matty played 48 games, was a substitute on a further 24 occasions and scored two goals.
Everyone at the Racecourse would like to wish him well for the future and success at Edgar Street with his new club.
