IT appears that Grimsby Town have offered Chris Llewellyn a two-year contract following his release from the Racecourse this summer.
The Wales international was a regular for the Dragons during his two spells in north Wales, recording 27 league goals in some 170 games.
With his contract expiring at the end of June, manager Brian Little decided against offering Chris an extension.
A number of clubs, including Welsh Premier outfit Rhyl, showed an interest in signing the Merthyr-born player.
Mariners boss Alan Buckley though was happy with his new signing, as he told their official website: "Obviously we are delighted to be signing Chris. The paperwork has to be completed but the player has agreed to join us.
"He is quite an adaptable player who can play wide on the left, just off the front man, on the left of a three man midfield.
"He's a good experienced footballer who has had a good education in the game at Norwich.
"Ciaran Toner left us, after playing the majority of his games out on the left, and that is an area where I expect him to play most of his games."
Ex-Dragon Richard Hope has also joined Grimsby, so Chris will know at least one other player when he reports for pre-season training at Cleethorpes.
Rhyl have though captured the signatures of two other players with Wrexham connections, as striker Jamie Reed signs on a one-year deal and veteran midfielder Gareth Owen opts to leave Airbus for the Lilywhites.
Ex-Dragons trainee George Horan, now Rhyl captain, has extended his stay at Belle Vue by agreeing a new two-year deal.
Meanwhile, striker Jon Newby could be facing us in the Blue Square Premier next season, as he is on trial at Burton Albion after leaving Coca Cola League 1 club Morecambe.
