THE Dragons continue their build-up to the new season with a private practice match against Tranmere Rovers this afternoon.

It looks like being a similar run out to last Saturday's friendly with Wolves, with players getting 45 minutes of action during the game.

Two lads who look like missing out though will be goalscorer Wes Baynes and forward Jefferson Louis, as both have picked up minor injuries and are unlikely to be risked.

"My ankle flamed up after taking a knock against Wolves," said Wes.

"We don't think it's too bad and I'm hoping to be involved against Blackpool on Saturday."

As for Jefferson he was nursing a sore knee, but clearly still in high spirirts after the Wolves match.

"I really enjoyed my first appearance at the Racecourse as a Wrexham player," said the striker, who made a good first impression.

"That's what the fans can expect more of this season, 100% commitment from the team, as we are determined to have this club challenging for honours."

Midfielder Shaun Whalley is still missing out on the action, as he continues his recovery with physio Mel Pejic.

After today's session, the Reds are back in action again on Saturday against Blackpool (3.00) and then entertain Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday 22 July (7.30).
