Alty Praise Travelling Supporters
WHILE we didn't get the result we were looking for at Altrincham on Bank Holiday Monday, it was great to see so many Wrexham supporters take the opportunity to support the team at Moss Lane.
Over 1,600 were in attendance and once again proved to be a great credit to the club, a point which was picked up on by officials of the host club in the following email we have just received from them:
Dear Geraint,
A quick email to say on behalf of Altrincham FC, a thank you to your club and supporters following the visit to Moss Lane on Monday.
I am told it was our best league gate for 17 years.
The behaviour of your supporters was excellent and the stewards did not even need to speak to anyone.
Thanks also to Colin Edwards for organising some of your stewards to attend and assist our own staff.
We look forward to meeting up again on Easter Monday.
Kind regards,
Derek Wilshaw
Secretary
Altrincham FC
Despite the switch of kick-off time, which was at the request of the local police, officials at Altrincham FC had always looked to encourage Wrexham supporters to attend and those who used the seating areas were made more than welcome in their social club.
It was a different experience to the ones we are more used to, especially where local derbies are involved. Congratulations to everyone who took the time and effort to back the boys, and we look forward to more of the same over the coming months.
