FORWARD Simon Brown was exhausted but happy with his afternoon's work at Salisbury City on Saturday.

"It was hot out there and we managed to give another early goal away, when they scored with a lucky deflection off the end of our wall, but we dug in and pulled it back," he said.

"We could have dropped our heads when that happened, but I think it did buoy us up. We grafted away and I think we were the more dominate as the first half wore on.

"The start of the second half was a good one for us and we managed to kill the game off.

"We knew we couldn't take their goal, it was a bit spawny but there was little we could about it. But we showed our character, got ourselves together and come away with a good win."
