NOT only is 'Calon' the Welsh word for heart - it now has another meaning for Wrexham Football Club.

Calon FM, the new Community Radio Station for Wrexham, has decided to dedicate one of its programmes to the Dragons.

Fans of Wrexham FC have come forward as potential presenters for a Wrexham FC dedicated show and will take turns in presenting.

So not only will Wrexham get an insight into the high-profile players at the Racecourse, but we can now find out more about what the fans and local community feel for their club.

As part of the initiatives from the newly elected WST board, they have been looking for new opportunities to engage fans and publicise the club and supporter events.

The culmination of lots of hard work behind the scenes will result in the first show 'Dragonheart' being broadcast in the Wrexham area on 105 FM between 1-2pm before the game versus Ebbsfleet United.

"A Wrexham FC dedicated show on Calon FM is one of most exciting projects the Trust has been involved in, and will be a first for Wrexham FC in its 130 year history.

"The lads are looking forward to becoming radio DJs - an experience they will never forget! Wrexham Supporters Trust has been looking for a platform like this to help and support WFC.

"My Dad took me to the matches and now I take my children ...that's how it is."

Spencer Harris, Board Member of Wrexham Supporters Trust

Calon FM are delighted to be featuring programming dedicated to Wrexham FC:

"It's absolutely essential for our Wrexham-based radio station to have a strong connection to the Dragons.

"The football club is embedded into the psyche of every single local - the real roots of Wrexham."
