JUST three days after appearing in Wales' World Cup qualifier in Moscow, Steve Evans was back to his bread and butter duties, putting in a superb performance against Ebbsfleet.

"Each game is the same. I've got to come back now and do my best to help Wrexham succeed," he said.

"I love playing for Wrexham, but Wales the other day was a bit special!

"If I could play in front of 30,000 people every game I would, but like I said, I love playing for Wrexham and I'm here to help us get out of this league."

His committed attitude was never better illustrated than by a superb double block which kept Wrexham's noses intact.

"I didn't know too much about it, but that's what I'm there for!" he said.

"I'm just glad we got the win really. In the first half they put us under a bit of pressure, but once we got the goal we settled down and looked alright, and in the second half we were on top of things.

"A sloppy goal at the end put us under a bit of pressure but it was a vital three points. We were a bit nervy hanging on but it was crucial to get the win. We needed it to climb up the table.

"Now we need to get some consistency, get some back to back wins and get up the table."
