LEVI Mackin could only bemoan an abject first forty-five minutes at Grays after the grim 2-1 defeat.
"We gave away two sloppy goals and virtually lost the game in the first half.
"It's a shame really because after I scored my goal for about five or ten minutes it looked like we were going to get another, but we didn't manage it and eventually we ran out of time to get back into the game so I'm very disappointed overall."
At least Mackin gave Wrexham fans the one bright spot of the game with his fine goal.
"I just thought I'll keep it down and see what happens. It couldn't have gone towards the corner any better and I was quite happy with that to be honest!
"I scored a few for the reserves; they don't seem to come very often but when they do they're quite decent ones so I can't really complain.
"Once I scored that goal my confidence went up a bit and things started coming off for me a bit more. Personally I want to try and push on and improve my game as much as I can.
"I'll run all day long for the team, there's no doubt about that. I want to keep playing, keep impressing the gaffer and try to help the team to get some better results."
