MIDFIELDER Simon Brown will be heading to Rushden & Diamonds for a loan spell which will take him into the January transfer window.

The necessary paperwork was signed this afternoon and international clearance has been granted for the Birmingham-based player to switch to Nene Park.

After spells with West Brom, Kidderminster and Mansfield Town, Simon moved to the Racecourse this summer.

He played regularly under Brian Little, but since the change in manager has only featured twice.

"The chance for Simon to get a few games will help us all," said Dean Saunders.

He has the opportunity of playing in eight games over the next six weeks, starting with a trip to Altrincham on Saturday.
