LIVERPOOL midfielder Ryan Flynn has become Dean Saunders' latest recruit, joining on loan until 3 January, after the Scotsman was fully registered with 45 minutes to spare and so beating this afternoon's 5.00pm deadline.
The 20-year-old was part of their FA Youth Cup winning team of two years ago and has played for Liverpool Reserves at the Racecourse.
"I know the manager has been keen on me for sometime and that's a big plus," said Ryan.
"This is a great opportunity for me and one I'm really looking forward to."
Both he and Sam Williamson have been cleared to play a part in the Dragon's December campaign and are eligible for the next 10 games.
This brings our present tally of loan players to seven, although the injured Ritchie De Laet will be returning to Stoke City on Monday and is also booked in for hernia operation on the same day.
While the current loan spell for Angelos Tsiaklis also expires after this weekend.
In the meantime, Dean can only name five of the six fit loan players for duty this Saturday, so someone will miss out this weekend at Stevenage.
While there are limits on the number of extended loan signings a club can make during a season, window to window deals, there is no upper limit on emergency loans, who are only available for a maximum of 93 days - but you can only name a maximum of five in your squad of 16 for a game.
It would be remise of us not to thank the staff at both Liverpool and Manchester City for their efforts today.
With both these clubs having far greater things to worry about - european games, local derbies, etc - it reflects great credit that they still go out of their way to help.
The same goes for Cardiff City, as well as the staff at the FAW and Football Conference - supporters probably don't appreciate the efforts that adminstrative staff go through to satisfy all the rules and regulations in football, just to get players out on a pitch, so it's nice to be able to say thank you once in a while.
