Ebbsfleet United OFF - No New Date!
A HEAVY than forecast overnight frost caused today's game at Stonebridge Road to be postponed, with one penalty area still white with frost when the match official declared the surface unplayable.
Officials at Ebbsfleet realised that the frost wasn't lifting from the pitch on Saturday morning and made contact with referee Michael Bull from Essex.
He headed straight to the ground and after walking over the grass, made his decision shortly after 11.30am.
The Wrexham squad had travelled down on Friday afternoon and on hearing the news, were left to gather their equipment and board the bus home at about 1.00pm.
As soon as anything is decided concerning a re-arrangement, then we will pass the information on - but at the moment any dates mentioned are purely speculative.
It was another frustrating day for both players and supporters, although plenty of other games in the area were also being called off shortly afterwards, including Leyton Orient v Sheffield United, which was called off at 1.15pm and Tranmere Rovers' visit to Colchester United, which went down at 1.40pm!
In the Blue Square Premier, Salisbury and Eastbourne both fell victim to the weather, while the BS South games at Basingstoke Town, Braintree Town, Fisher Athletic, Hayes & Yeading, St Albans and Thurrock were all postponed.
