FORMER Wrexham assistant boss Martin Foyle has returned to the Racecourse to take the versatile Kyle Critchell on loan to York City for a month.

The Wales U21 international is just back from injury and desperate to be playing games again - so this is a deal which suits all parties.

After missing the start of the season with a suspension hanging over from last year, Kyle played twice over the August Bank Holiday weekend, but then picked up a injury which sidelined him for over three months.

Now back into full training, he was on the bench for the Setanta Shield tie against Southport, but was involved in a minor car crash on his way to the ground, so wasn't brought into the action.

"I'm full fit and ready to play but match fitness is a very different thing and I realise that my opportunities here are limited at the moment because the side is playing so well," he said recently.

"I have been out for four months, so I need some regular football and it may be that the best way of doing that is to go out on loan for a month.

"I fully understand the gaffer's situation because he has never seen me play, and I want to stay here at Wrexham, but I'm a young ambitious player and I need to prove myself.

"Perhaps a loan spell would be of benefit to me, to the gaffer and to Wrexham."
