Reds Beat Out Saints

Posted on: Tue 20 Jan 2009

AT lunchtime today a Wrexham XI faced a TNS XI at Colliers Park and fought through to a 3-2 victory.

The side was made up mainly of trialists who have been training under the watchful eye of manager Dean Saunders.

At one stage, no less than eight trialists were on show, along with Steve Abbott, Kai Edwards and Chris Marriott.

The Reds forged into a two-goal lead by the interval, but were pegged back in the second half, only for Abbott to hit a tremendous shot for the winner.

Full back Christian Gyan, who travelled with the Dragons to Devon last week, played the full match and will now head back to his home in Holland for a few days with his family before returning again over the weekend.

Another of our goalscorers was a German midfielder, whose father hails from Merseyside, and who has enjoyed spells with Armenia Bielefeld and Red Bull New York.
