DEFENDER Carl Tremarco is set to join League 2 Darlington on loan for a month.

The full back has travelled north to meet up with Quakers manager Dave Penney and will sign on emergency loan forms until the end of February.

"It came out of the blue, but the chance to be playing again is one I'm looking forward to," said Carl.

Darlington are sitting pretty in the play-off places and with games in hand will have their eye on an automatic promotion spot.

Ironically, Carl will team up with former Red Ryan Valentine, the man he replaced when the Wrexham-born defender switched back to the Darlington Arena a year ago.

After starting this season in the Wrexham line-up, he featured in 16 BSP matches, although his last appearance was at Kidderminster some two months ago.

The Quakers head to Dagenham this weekend, following their midweek success over Rotherham, and Carl has the opportunity to be involved in seven games during his initial month in the north-east.
