HOPES are justifably high that tomorrow's game with Gray's Athletic will go ahead as planned, as we appear to have missed the worst of the poor weather that hit the eastern side of England last night and caused the Ebbsfleet United v Burton Albion match to be abandoned.
We have had rain overnight, but yesterday we were able to get a verti-drain machine onto pitch, which punched thousands of six inch deep holes into the surface - allowing the ground to drain well and cope with anything that should be thrown at it in the short term.
The forecast, although constantly changing, suggests we will escape a frost overnight Friday into Saturday, with the next batch of rain clouds crossing us on Saturday morning, but not hanging around and moving quickly on.
We have done our best to keep Grays Athletic and the match referee appraised of conditions in North Wales, to deal with any concerns they may have.
With temperatures also likely to be around 6c at 3 o'clock on Saturday, it will feel a great deal more comfortable than it has done in recent weeks.
