AS manager Dean Saunders turned his attention to this weekend's FA Trophy encounter with Ebbsfleet United at the Racecourse, he recalled the pride he felt at being Wrexham manager at Burton Albion in midweek.
"I was very proud to be a part of Wrexham Football Club on Tuesday night," he said.
"The players gave me everything on the pitch and the supporters played their part off it.
"To take over 1,200 fans away in midweek is a tremendous achievement and I hope that you can see the progress that is being made week-in week-out, as we try to get this club back to where it rightfully belongs.
"The fans sang throughout the match and got right behind the players. Alright, in the end the result went against us, but there were so many other positives to take away with us.
"I hope that in years to come we all will look back at the Burton match and say that's where the misery finally stopped.
"I want people to be proud of this club and to know that when their team crosses that white line then, irrespective of the personnel, they will all roll their sleeves up and have a real go.
"That's the attitude which will bring us the success we all crave."
