Shaun Pejic Joins York City

Posted on: Fri 20 Feb 2009

ANOTHER of our former players has been fixed up with a club, as defender Shaun Pejic signed forms with BSP rivals York City today, joining a growing band of ex-Reds at the Kit Kat Crescent.

Minstermen manager Martin Foyle watched Shaun go through his paces in a midweek reserve team game and then offered the former Wales U21 international a short-term deal.

As Pej is not cup-tied, he has the added advantage of being available for this weekend's FA Trophy game with Havant & Waterlooville, as York go in search of some revenge, after losing to the Blue Square South side in the same competition last season!

With over 175 league appearances to his credit, plus plenty more in various cups, it is something of a surprise that other clubs haven't shown an interest in the 26-year-old before now.

His international clearance was acquired in time for him to be eligible for tomorrow's quarter-final and it looks as though he will be given his York debut.
