Monday PM - CRAIG has been discharged from hospital in Wrexham and with his girlfriend Louise headed back home to Kent on Monday afternoon.
The injured Ebbsfleet player suffered a broken leg at the weekend and underwent an operation Saturday night to reset his leg.
After being allowed to leave the hospital, Craig went Wrexham's training ground at Colliers Park to met up with Andrew Crofts, and his former Gillingham team mate then drove the pair back down south.
EBBSFLEET's Craig Stone has under gone an operation in the Maelor Hospital following his injury during Saturday's FA Trophy tie at the Racecourse.
His broken leg was reset, although no pins were inserted, and while he is stable and comfortable, the former Gillingham youngster will be in a full leg plaster for at least six weeks, although full recovery after that will take many more months.
The irony of the whole situation is that his coming together was with his former Priestfield team mate Andrew Crofts and the pair are good friends off the field.
After being tended to on the pitch, Craig was treated by the Wrexham club doctor before being transferred to the Maelor for further medical attention and then surgery.
His girlfriend Louise is with Craig and the pair hope to return home to Kent in the next few days, once the player is able to start moving on crutches.
Everyone at Wrexham FC wishes Craig a full and speedy recovery.
We have received the following message from Ebbsfleet United officials:
"I have just been speaking to Louise, Craig's other half, and she explained the following: Craig has had surgery on his leg to straighten the break. It was a double break, both tib and fib, quite high up his shin.
"The plan originally was to pin it, but on further inspection, doctors decided that it would be better for Craig not to, as the pin would have been near to his knee and may have caused him problems in the future.
"He has a full length heavy cast, which will remain on for approximately 8 weeks, before they put on a lightweight cast. Craig himself is positive, and is looking to make the quickest recovery possible.
"He is looking to pull on an EUFC shirt as soon as he possibly can, and would like to thank everyone for their concern, and their support. He hopes to be home within the next couple of days.
"Louise also said that Wrexham FC have been brilliant, supporting her in any way they possibly can whilst Craig is in hospital there.

The player is hoping to be discharged from hospital this morning and the plan is then to take him to Colliers Park training ground to meet up with Andrew Crofts, who will then drive both Craig and Louise back to their Kent home.
