AS if the scoreline wasn't bad enough, striker Marc Williams was taken to hospital during today's game and x-rays have revealed a fracture to his fifth metatarsal.

This is not good news and probably spells the end of the U21 international's season.

"I had been hoping for better news," said Dean.

"It now looks as we might well be serching for not just one but two strikers to bring in."

No other player was involved in the incident, as physio Mel Pejic explained:

"Marc just put his weight down on his foot and felt the bone break.

"We took him off immediately and he was attended to by the club doctor. From there it was onto the hospital for x-rays, which have revealed the extent of the problem.

"The specialist will take a look at the slides on Monday and I would expect Marc to be having an operation sometime next week.

"After that we will have a better understanding of the timescales involved, but it's unlikely that he will be back this season."

Everyone at the club wishes Marc a speedy recovery.
