FOLLOWING on from Saturday's five-goal thrashing of NEWI Cefn Druids, Wrexham's reserve side maintained their fine form of late with a 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley at Colliers Park earlier this afternoon.

The Dragons took the lead after 12 minutes when the impressive Sam Aiston cut inside from the left-wing to calmly place his low right-foot shot across the Stanley keeper and into the far corner of the net.

The former Sunderland man played a key part in the second six minutes before the interval, when his mazy run ended with him being brought down in the box, Michael Proctor sending the goalkeeper the wrong way from the resultant spot-kick.

The half-time interval allowed the watching Reds' coaching duo of Terry Darracott and Brian Carey the opportunity to make five changes, with full-back Carl Tremarco starting the second period on the left-hand side of midfield.

Now back from a month's loan spell with cash-strapped Darlington, Tremarco made an instant impact as his determined block provided Steve Abbott with the simplest of chances to make it 3-0 inside the first 23 seconds of the second period.

The fourth goal duly arrived on 76 minutes, when Carl Tremarco was put clear by Proctor.Whilst the ex-Tranmere defender's first effort was partially saved, his second ended up in the back of the net as the Stanley players appealed in vain for offside.
