THE Reserves travelled to Stockport County this afternoon and came home with a 5-0 victory over the home side, although the downside was Scotsman Jamie McCluskey damaging ankle ligaments, which could sideline the forward.
It was a pretty even first half with some meaty challenges from both sides bringing a very competitive feel to proceedings.
The sides were separated by a great finish from Darran Kempson, who finished from 15-yards when getting on the end of a cross in from Kyle Critchell, following a Wes Baynes corner that was only half cleared.
That flag kick was earned following some good work by Christian Gyan, who dribbled his way into the County box and forced the young home keeper into a diving save.
Late in the half, McCluskey jumped to avoid a lunging tackle but went over on his ankle after landing heavily.
As he was carried from the pitch, the Reds sent on trialist Sam Wade, the Wales U19 international, who once replaced Jon Brown in an FAW Premier Cup tie against Newport County!
After the break there was only one team in the game and when Wes Baynes slotted home our second from a tight angle on 55 minutes, there was no way back for Stockport.

Wes Baynes slots home his second goal
Wes Baynes then repeated the trick five minutes later, after he had created the opening on the right flank.
It was then the turn of substitute Silvio Spann the race through a static back line on 70 minutes and with time to pick his post he gave the keeper no chance.
There was a hat-trick for Wes Baynes with 10 minutes of the match remaining, he beat the offside trap and made light work of firing home our fifth of the day.
Manager Dean Saunders was delighted with the way his side went about their task and it gives him further food for thought as he prepares the squad to face Woking on Saturday.
