IT'S back around the M25 for the Dragons this weekend, as they head to Surrey for a meeting with Woking at the Kingfield Stadium.

Both sides are desperate for the points, although for differing reasons.

Wrexham's play-off charge has stuttered in recent weeks, ironically since putting on great display at Burton Albion, when the hosts came from behind to steal the points with a late winner.

Since then it has been seven games without a win, although two were in the FA Trophy.

A point against draw specialists Forest Green Rovers in midweek was a fair reward for a battling display and fighting back after conceding an awful goal to the Gloucestershire team.

The signing of Matt Jansen will offer Dean Saunders more scope up front and he has once again included trainee Obi Anoruo in the squad that went overnight.

Whether Jansen's late of match practice will mean a place on the bench, rather than in the starting line-up, remains to be seen.

Winger Jamie McCluskey misses out as he recovers from ankle ligament damage picked up during Wednesday afternoon's 5-0 thumping of Stockport County Reserves, when Wes Baynes helped himself to a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Woking have signed winger Alex Rhodes from Coca-Cola League Two side Rotherham United until the end of the season, as they battle to avoid the drop.

The 27-year-old, who is expected to go into Woking's starting eleven at home to Wrexham on Saturday, has scored three goals in 20 appearances this season.

Manager Phil Gilchrist told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "We've been a bit light on the left-hand side.

"He's a left-hand sided player who's got pace, ability, can whip a ball in but can also score goals as well."

Rhodes is no stranger to non-League football, having begun his career in the Ridgeon's League with Newmarket Town, and also had a loan spell with Grays Athletic in the Conference in 2006/07.

Another recent addition is ex-Watford man Micah Hyde, who has been recruited from Peterborough United, but he limped out of the action just before half time last Saturday.

That match saw the Cards score for the first time in six attempts, as Australian Oliver Bozanic's vital goal was enough to see off Barrow, also their first three points in seven games.

They did hold Burton to a goal less draw in that time, but goals of their own have been hard to come by this season.

Ebbsfleet's Giuseppe Sole is still their second top scorer with 5, just behind leading striker Wilfried Domoraud who has 8 - although three of those came in one match against Northwich Victoria and another two against luckless Lewes.

With plenty at stake, it will be tense encounter in leafy Surrey...
